Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Julio Neri Studied at thw Central University of Venezuela; the School of Cinematography: Boston University, Boston, Mass, USA; Orson Welles Film School, Cambridge, Mass. and the
School of Cinematography: Simon Bolívar University, Caracas Venezuela as well as the National School of Journalism , Caracas Venezuela 1974 as a Producer her has Produced and directed three feature films and
more than twelve short films, as well as several TV programs and series. He is the recipient of numerous awards including: the International Film Festival 1978, Louvin, Belgium:
Palm D’Or. Film: “Armada”; Biarritz Film Festival, France 1979:Special Jury Award, Film: Electofrenia; Cartagena International Film Festival 1980
Special Jury Award, Film: Electofrenia and is also the Recipient of several national awards in Venezuela. Julio has served as a member of the jury for Cinema for
a myriad of International Festivals in Spain, France, Canada, Iran, Belgium, USA, and Venezuela (1980-2006). For television he has served as a jury member for the Emmy International, USA:
and has been a member of the Jury for four consecutive years (2004-2007). He has also Produced: The Vanguard Film Festival, Caracas, Venezuela (1976-1982)
The International TV Festival, Caracas, Venezuela (1986). Active member of the Organizing Committee of The Miami Latino Film Festival, Miami, Fl. USA (2003-2007). He is the Founder:
The Latin American Independent Network (LAIN), a LATAM television program distribution group (1981); LAIN International in Miami, Fl, 1992. Sells it to a technology public company in 2003. Founder:
Cinemania Network – 1996 and Launched: the first Internet Spanish Language Film channel: Cinemania TV-2000. In 2009 developed its own platform for the channel. Currently:
Acts as CEO of 3 flourishing ventures in the U.S.A., Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Advices in programming to different TV station throughout US and Latin America.
